Our Partnership
Founded in 1870 by thirteen German-American families, Cross Lutheran Church has seen many changes over the course of its 150 years. As the community around it changed, Cross embraced the diversity of all kinds. UNITY has proudly and closely partnered with this church community in many ways throughout the years.
How YOU Can Help Cross Lutheran Church
Attend Garden Work Parties
Join us for Cross’ annual Garden Work Parties, typically held in spring or summer on a Saturday from 9 am-noon. Help us shovel mulch, turn over beds, and get Cross’s Community Garden ready for the growing season ... all while eating hot dogs and getting to know some of the members at this fascinating, multi-cultural and history-making congregation! It’s the perfect project for those who are looking to serve others outside of our local community while enjoying the weather. All ages are welcome. Watch for future dates TBA.
Provide Gifts Through UNITY's Angel Trees
“Angel Trees” at our COL and CTK campuses are an easy way to give at Christmastime. Each tree is adorned with tags for small thank you gifts for staff and residents at our partner ministries, as well as presents for kids at our partner churches. Angel Trees are typically adorned with tags by Advent Fest (first Friday in December), with wrapped and labeled gifts due by mid-December.
