Pastors
Sherrie has been serving as Pastor at Cross of Life and UNITY since August 2006. It was when she was in 7th grade that she began to feel a call to ordained ministry. She is the 7th person (and the 4th woman) ordained from her home congregation of Grace Lutheran in Tomahawk, Wis.
Sherrie majored in Religion at Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa, and received her Master of Divinity degree from the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago. Through seminary, she served at Capitol Drive Lutheran Church in Milwaukee and at Bethany Lutheran in Escanaba, Mich.
Her husband Matthew is a Master Electrician and owns his own electrical business. Matt and Sherrie have three sons, George, James and Peter, and a daughter Emily.
Justin joined UNITY following a ministry journey shaped by education, community partnership, and a deep calling to serve God’s people. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee in 2007, he began working with youth through AmeriCorps/VISTA in Milwaukee Public Schools. This work led to roles as a middle school teacher and assistant principal, and later to leadership positions with Milwaukee nonprofits Lead to Succeed and All Hands Boatworks, where he developed programs that built life skills, hope, and resilience in students.
In 2018, Justin felt called to ordained ministry. He attended Luther Seminary in St. Paul, Minn., where he received a full scholarship and earned his Master of Divinity degree in 2021. He then accepted his first call as solo pastor of Living Faith Lutheran Church in Racine, Wis., where he strengthened community partnerships, formed outreach teams, and expanded opportunities for worship, Bible study, confirmation, and Christian education for children and adults.
Justin and his wife, Christine, have been married for more than a decade and have three children: Alice and twins Jon and Lily. He enjoys spending time outdoors kayaking and hiking, and he is a devoted Wisconsin sports fan who cheers for the Brewers, Packers, and Bucks.
Eric joined UNITY as an Interim Pastor in May 2024, he brings with him more than three decades of pastoral experience with the Greater Milwaukee Synod.
Most notably he served for 20 years (2001-2021) with Christ Lutheran Church in Salem/Paddock Lake, Wis., where he retired as their Senior Pastor. He then served as the Bridge Pastor/Interim Associate Pastor for 9 months at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Oconomowoc (2021-2022), and most recently at Trinity Lutheran Church in Kenosha (July 1, 2022-April 1, 2024).
Prior to beginning his 20-year stay at Christ Lutheran, he served as an Associate Pastor at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Portage, Wis. (1995-2001). His very first ministry assignment was as an Associate Pastor at Immanuel and Wilmington Lutheran Churches in Caledonia, Minn. (1992-1995).
Eric and his wife Vickie live in Greendale and have three adult children who live in the area: Suzanne, Erica and Charlie. Eric is a fan of Wisconsin sports, especially the UW-Madison men’s basketball team. He also likes attending concerts and enjoys swimming at a high school near his home.
